Launch into Orbit
We are currently looking to ISC Kosmatras for a DNEPR launch in mid to late 2012.
The DNEPR Space Launch System is based on SS-18 ICBM Technology. The SS-18 missiles are converted into launch vehicles. Housed in silos, they afford all weather preparation and the ability to launch in almost any conditions.
Identifying a launch at an early stage was important as this dictated aspects of the final structure design along with the system for deployment of the VHF antenna and the design of the important adapter which mates the satellite to the launch vehicle.
Negotiations are on gong however we have cleared with the agency that our release requirements can be met allowing for KiwiSAT to be launched with the best possible antenna configuration.
